How many K-30 owners do we have?

According to B&H, only a couple of pre-orders were shipped out to PF members. I hope the K-30 is in fact more popular than that! Post here if you've got one

I'm waiting to see what the K-5's successor is (and what it costs) before deciding. I will likely get the K30, though. I just want a comparison first. Though not from BH as warranty is not international.

My wife got me one for our England trip. Arrived last Monday (9th). Black body only from B&H, she did not know about Pentax Forum.

Just waiting to see if the K5 price will come down after the replacement is announced. Still debating over a K5 or the K30. Probably will buy one or the other before the end of this year. We know how well the K5 is holding up over the years, the unknown is how the K30 will do.

Waiting for the price to decrease by roughly a couple hundred dollars or so. But, in any case, I wouldn't buy from B&H because they charge tax.. and you guys seem to advertise them a lot around here.. as if the forums are an extension of B&H sales and marketing. This very thread sort of aids that assumption..

Pentax Forums is an affiliate of B&H along with Adorama and Topaz. Come on man, it's written in Adam's signature.

I have mine coming in this Wednesday from B&H.

Clearly the one thing holding back K-30 sales (among the faithful forum users) is the drop in K-5 prices. Hopefully the affiliates are reaping rewards from both models! Also the K-30 reviews are not finalized; that should add to the statistics in a month or two. My high satisfaction with the K-5 is definitely keeping me out of the game this time 'round.. though we shall see how futile my resistance is over the coming months

Sounds like a K-30 review will help many folks decide between the K-5 and the K-30. The K-30 is definitely more modern in terms of interface and video, but preliminary tests show that the AF isn't that much better, which is what many had hoped for. Our review is almost done and is scheduled to be ready by Monday, so stay tuned

I was just using the B&H sales figures as an example, as they do a pretty good job of modeling Pentax user buying trends. They showed that not too many K-30's have sold, and this thread seems to confirm that. B&H told me over the phone that they haven't stocked that many K-30's (likely because they didn't foresee too many sales), and it seems to be the case so far.

Based on how long it took for the K-01 to fall in price, I'm guessing it'll be 3 or 4 months before we see any K-30 rebates.

Bought my K-5 over the K-30 a few weeks ago. Could not be happier on the choice I made.

I wonder what the K-5 sales trend looks like. The K-5 has dropped to nearly the same amount and is no doubt competing with the K-30.
