I am looking forward to the AF test and would not only like to know how the K-30 AF compares to the K5 but also the K-r. I am not looking for a quantum leap improvement but at least more accurate AF and no more tungsten issues.

I have one, not from B&H locally sourced.

Count me in.
I have the black body with the 18-135mm WR lens.
So far it is the camera I hoped it would be.
Only drawback was I could not get the blue one bundled with the 18-135mm WR lens.

I will buy the K-30, was also hoping for the blue one with a 18-135 bundle, but that won't happen. So I will order the black, maybe tonight from B&H. I too was hoping to buy local but didn't find any.

Adam, to make sure PF gets credit, what do I need to do? I have clicked through the links before and you get no record of the sale. I am pretty much permanently signed into B&H. Do I need to sign out and have nothing in my wish list?

First time Pentaxian

I have the 18-135 kit pre-ordered at B&H, with no clue as to when it will arrive. I bought a Sony A57 to move up from the Fuji HS series. I really wanted the k-5 then but it was slightly out of my price bracket after including the price of lenses. Soon after I got the A57, the K-30 was announced so I promptly returned the Sony. Really looking forward to starting my love affair with Pentax!

What a wonderful first dSLR -- I doubt you will be squeezing all you can out of it for a long time.. I'm still learning cool new things with my 2 year old K-x

Welcome to Pentaxland *shakes hand*

Waiting for the price to decrease by roughly a couple hundred dollars or so. But, in any case, I wouldn't buy from B&H because they charge tax.. and you guys seem to advertise them a lot around here.. as if the forums are an extension of B&H sales and marketing. This very thread sort of aids that assumption..
A wee percentage of each sale, if it goes through here, goes to pay for the lights and power for this place. Nothing hidden, all above board. But you can still buy where you please and participate here and never contribute a cent.

I just placed a pre-order at B&H for the kit with the 18-135 (logged out and deleted the B&H cookies). Also a spare battery, a SanDisk 16GB Class 10SDHC Memory Card Extreme, a Lowepro case for the lens, and a CP filter for my Tamron 12-24. I could not order the battery holder for the AA batteries as they are out of stock. I may never use that item, but a nice backup to have. Now I'll probably be selling my K20D and a lens or two to help pay for this. I can't wait!

I bought the blue K30 kit (18-55mm) from BH to replace my K20. Received it this past Tuesday.

I was just using the B&H sales figures as an example, as they do a pretty good job of modeling Pentax user buying trends. They showed that not too many K-30's have sold, and this thread seems to confirm that. B&H told me over the phone that they haven't stocked that many K-30's (likely because they didn't foresee too many sales), and it seems to be the case so far.
That is seriously disappointing news, and an indictment of Pentax Ricoh Imaging Americas Corp.

Have been planning to get a K-5 for 3 months, but ended up got the black K-30 with the 18-135mm WR kit from Amazon.
Just couldn't resist the package and the price. It was quite difficult to get the K-5 with the 18-135mm lens.
Also keep hearing some problems with K-5, kind of worried I would be the "lucky" one.
So far I am happy with this decision.

Picked mine up on Friday in Canada. With the 18-55 WR lens and DA* 50-135. Of course it's been the focus of my attentions although I haven't had as much time as I'd like to devote to it.
