1970's onwards K and M lenses are manual focus and manual exposure only and there's quite a few primes that are optically very good. K-lenses don't always have a K printed on them, just look for the letters SMC which refers to the coatings used. The PK mount may be mentioned in ads.
Later A-lenses are manual focus again but have a lever in the mount that allows auto exposure modes like Av, Tv, P. The PKA mount may be mentioned.
Then you're into newer F, FA, DA variants that do autofocus and auto exposure. DA lenses tend to be for crop sensors only but a few can manage FF sensor coverage I believe. DA* and LTDs are the best quality of the modern lenses.
All the above will work on the K-30, the early K and M ones require a menu change which can be left set (aperture ring....option) and a green button push for stop down metering to take place in M mode (and a fixed ISO!) before taking the shot.
