LCD protector?

So, I know it's early, but was wondering if any of you K-30 owners have gotten an LCD protector for your new cameras yet?

I have an Acmaxx hard LCD screen protector on my K-r and it's been super. I was thinking about ordering another one for my K-30 which I just ordered from Singapore. But I'm just wondering if the LCD screen size and shape are exactly the same? I don't see any screen protectors out there specifically made for the K-30 yet. I'm guess the same one would work, but want to be sure before I buy.

Also, any other recommendations are welcome, though I really love the Acmaxx. Thanks!

Size should be all the same. I ordered a GGS LCD protector for Canon 60D again. Used those before on 60D and E-PL2. It's a steal for less than $5.

I actually have a GGS I got for my K-r but it didn't fit right. I guess I must have gotten the wrong one. It said 3" though. That's how I ended up with the Acmaxx.

Thanks! If the size/shape of LCD are the same between K-r and K-30 I probably will just get the Acmaxx again.

I bought one of these, works well:

Vikuiti screen protector ARMR200 for Pentax K-30: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

I scratched the screen on my pentax from it hanging around my neck, so I was keen to get some protection on there right away.,

Seems expensive for what is basically just a small rectangle of plastic film...

I have been using GGS protectors for my cameras for some time. I bought the 3' GGS one from Amazon for my K-30, fits perfectly

Thanks for the info, folks.

isb.deep, thanks. In that pic, the GGS 3" seems to fit just fine, but I have one and I can tell you it was too small for my K-r. I don't know if I got one that was mismarked or what, but I didn't ever install it because it would've left a bit of LCD hanging out on all sides. Strange.

Always possible that it's mismarked or worse, fake. I have used them for HS30, LX-5 and now for the K-30 and the size was perfect for all them. I think they don't offer the same level of protection as the Acmaxx (have never used Acmaxx) screen but they still do come in handy and after a while you forget that they're even there.

Pheo: The ARMR200 claims to be anti-reflective. How well does this work?

Can anyone confirm that the K-r and K-30 screens are identical sizes?

This is why I spent a bit more. And it does work well. I will warn people that it does slightly mute contrast though. Basically, it adds a similar anti-glare surface that modern IPS monitors tend to have.

However as a result reflections pretty much disappear. I decided this was worth the trade off.

I will also say that it was better quality material, and much easier to apply than similar static fix screen protectors I've had in the past. I also got it within 2 days, many times in the UK this kind of thing is drop shipping from HK/CN - this makes it take forever. This came from Germany, and very quickly.

Hence from my POV, it was worth paying the extra £3.

I just measured both my K-r and my K-30 rear LCD screens. K-r: 2.038" x 2.638" (51.77mm x 66.97mm) K-30: 2.101" x 2.639" (53.37mm x 66.97mm). So, while they are very close, they are not 100% the same. This measurement was made with a digital caliper, to the edge of the glass LCD screen.

Wow, thanks hellenti! Oh well, I already ordered my Acmaxx 3" so I guess I'll give it a try. If it's close enough that I don't lose any info by installing it, I'll give it a go. Unfortunately, the Acmaxx will arrive long before my K-30.

My GGS screen protector was broken when I opened the mail. Had to contact the seller for a replacement order.
