It does. The electronic level and automatic detection of portrait mode use this.

Every time i turn on the camera i have to turn off the display, is that normal only user mode saves the turned off screen?

In the dark, if the brightness is hurting your night vision, and it will, or if you think the display is helping to drain your battery, why not just reduce the brightness in the menu settings? it will remain dim until you change it again in the settings.

can be configure> menu > camera 4 > memory 2 > shooting info display yes, the camera remember when you turn off the camera and the display does not turn it a second time when you turn on the camera, very easy

My K-30 doesn't do that, it stays off between turn-ons. There's a screen available in the menus that lets you decide what gets remembered, I guess it's in there - I can't check ATM.

I was quite upset when I turned on my K-30 and kept seeing the LCD on! It took searching until I found

Pentax should have checked that box by default!
