Interval Shooting

I noticed you can't use it in blub mode which is a bummer but oh well. I'm not sure if this has something to do with the cameras way to prevent over heating but... I set my camera up to do astrophotography and have even tested it, at 30" at 999 shots, it will shoot 50 of those and stop. I'm able to watch it and keep telling it to re run the interval but only last the 50 shots for 25ish minutes. Its not like the battery dies or turns off, it just...stops? Its a major upgrade from my Nikon D60 and having to shoot every single 30" shot but if it gives the option to shoot "1000" shots at 30 seconds why doesn't it? I'm curious if anyone has tested this or will and can give me an answer. It just sucks having to set a timer and go out and reset it ever 20 minutes.

Thanks in advance.

It really shouldn't just give up like that unless the battery really does get drained that fast, which is unlikely. Worst-case you could try to control the camera via a PC running PK_tether instead (though I'm not 100% sure whether or not it works with the k-30 yet).

Hmm, I have been experimenting with the interval shooting as well, and have done 250 odd shots with no issues, but just during the day. How long is your exposure time? The only few times I have shot at night, it took a pretty long time to write the 5 to 20 second shot to the card (class 10), which may be eating up the battery?

Is long exposure nr on with this, meaning each 30s shot has a 30s dark frame? That would have the camera on continouosly in effect. That's my only guess for now.
