Flash compatibility

Hi,

I have a Sigma EF-610 DG ST and recently upgraded from a Pentax K-r to a Pentax K-30 and now the combination doesn’t seem to work properly. Can anyone answer if the flash is fully compatible with the K-30?

Thanks inadvance

Sigma work by reverse engineering because they don't pay for the license.
So the changes are that when a new product comes to the market (like the K30) the flash or lens stop working, you might want to contact Sigma and see if they can help.

Thanks, I've actually mailed Sigma but don't expect feedback as quick as on this forum...

I will also contact some retailers to see if they have any information.

Out of curiosity, what exactly doesn't work?

Use in particular camera modes (Av, Tv)? Or PTTL? Or HSS? Or everything?

I have a similar problem, not with a Sigma, but with a Metz. My Metz 50 AF-1 works flawlessly with my K-x, but it doesn't work with my K-30.

The only thing that really seems to work is that the Flash reads the focal length and is released when shooting. All settings must be manual.
