A good review of the K-30

Good to see some objectivity in journalism. A great pity his publisher is crumbling around him, though.

I particularly like his description of what motivates Pentax as a manufacturer.

From the image he must have been using the DAL 18-55. Hence the comments about the noisy AF mechanism.

If CRK had supplied him with a 18-135 WR, like all the US reviewers seemed to get, the review would have been 100% positive.

Yes its very short and succinct but they have included many important points that many other reviews have confused or missed altogether. As the review states, it is not an entry level camera. Perhaps in price but in features its upper mid range or enthusiast. Also while it is subjective, it is very good looking camera and very comfortable to hold. I like the verdict as well. Pentax do design camera for real photographers and it shows in the features they offer and in the ergonomics.

Reviewers will always find something negative about every product. No product is perfect and they won't be taken seriously if they don't find one or two faults with any given item.
