Image file names changed

This is something that has been bugging me for some time - I noticed that the camera is naming files differently from what it used to. Rather than the usual IMGP1234.DNG it is now naming them as _IGP1234.DNG, that is starting with an underscore and IGP instead of IMGP.

At the time I didn't really worry about it as I thought I just messed up some setting and would just need to set it back. I am assuming there is a menu option somewhere to define the format of the filename but I am unable to find it. All I could find that was remotely related was the option to name folders either by date or as 'PENTX'.

Any ideas what could have gone wrong and how to fix it ?

You have the camera set to use Adobe RGB. When the color space is set to Adobe RGB it uses the underscore naming, if you change it back to sRGB it will go back to the IMGP naming.

Now that you mention it I do remember changing the colour space even if I can't quite remember why.

Incidentally is there any advantage/disadvantage pertaining to the different colour space in normal use or is it only for some specialised applications that it would make a difference?
