Shameless Amateur Flickr

Hi, I bought K-30 as my first camera to stay away from trouble back in August 2012 when I arrive at my command in Norfolk, VA. As an amateur with no experience or knowledge of photography, I managed to learn some basic tips online. Please let me know what you think of my photo so far. Sorry I do not know where to post this. Thanks

Welcome to the K-30 club.

Looks like you're having lots of fun experimenting and trying different things; which is the best way to learn. Keep at it, you've got a good start!

For a new camera user, you appear to have developed a eye for good composition already. As Julie said, just keep at it, and learn from the ones that don't work (of which there will be plenty, as we all have).

Wow, those pictures take me back. Only difference is, when I was in the Navy, we wore bell bottoms. Pictures look good. Bravo Zulu shipmate. Fair winds and following seas.

Yes I want to feel the same when I look at my pics when I am old, that is the reason why I started shooting 3 month ago

Interesting shots!

There seem to be a lot of navy guys - from subs to surface - into photography around these forums, and other sites.

Must be something about the scenery they get exposed to that awakens their eye. Although that doesn't explain why some of the guys in subs get into it too. Hmmm.

Liked the US NAVAL SHIP one. Great B&W balance. If the flare on the left side of the ship is not there, it would be perfect.
