K-30 remote triggering from behind

Will the K-30 pick up remote triggering from behind the camera, like my K10D, or just from the front? Thanks.

Only from the front, or kind of the lower side. I only trigger with the remote when using a tripod. I wish it worked from the back, but it has not caused me any problems.

Thanks Tom and ExFinn, I thought I had read that somewhere in a "review". Do you know how the K-7 is set up? I want the camera between me and the bear, not vice versa...

Mine seem to work from any angle in my house. I haven't tried outdoors yet though. 3rd party remote here, supposedly up to 15m range.

I have not tried with a fresh battery in the remote, although the remote receiver is on the front.

K7 has IR receivers front and back, it that is what you are asking about.

You can use an IR reflector to to allow the remote to work from behind.

I have one that came with my remote control which looks exactly like the one below :
Camera Reflector for Infrared Remote Control | eBay

This little piece of plastic doesn't have to cost that much either. If you order from China you can probably get the remote + reflector for less than that.

I attach it to the lens using a lens leash. Works fine.

I had thought about trying to make one, I didn't know they were already out there.
