Finally K30!

Hello all!

Finally today I received a Pentax K30 with 18-135mm! Thanks to Heie for helping out in the decision process.

I am coming from the K100D and the KM. The quality of the body construction is definitely a step ahead w.r.t. the previous bodies.

I am waiting impatiently to charge fully the battery to try the camera out :-)

I am still undecided whether to keep the 18-135mm - I already have the 18-250mm, and the gain would be only in weather sealing and faster AF. Selling it might help in financing the purchase of the DA* planned for the next year...

If you are planning on the DA* whether it be 50-135 or 16-50, I would say go right ahead and sell that 18-135 WR. Because you already have a 18-250, that can be your main walk-around lens otherwise if you can pick up the funds with it, sell both and go overload with buying both DA*'s! Just kidding =P whatever suits you best. Glad you are liking the feel of your K-30 so far, it is going to be an awesome experience with that camera! Whatever you decide to do with those lenses, the decision can only bring you further! Can't go wrong with a DA*, at least in my experiences. May you enjoy your camera. Cheers!

if you got the 18-135 as part of a kit, you probably paid substantially less than it's price when bought individually. Sell it for a profit, get other lenses. Win. (grammar sucks I am on phone)

The plan is to sell the tamron 28-75 f2.8 and get the tamron 17-50 f2.8. As of now, I cannot justify the difference in price with the DA* 16-50mm.

The lens I would be interested in is the DA* 18-85 planned for 2013. Then of course if I look at some others DA* such as the 60-250... I start drooling ;-)
