New firmware

A DPR K-5 post prompted me to check the K-30 firmware out. It's still at version 1.01 BUT the checksum is definitely different to the 1.01 I downloaded a month ago. I haven't tried installing yet.

I've updated. Can't see any difference in AF behaviour.

I've updated. But it is worse than firmware version 1.00. Especially when shoot in live view, it can not focus face about 5% .

my k30 is so fantastic camera, that I see no reason to think about upgrading it to perform better than now. I just don't know if there is a space for improvement ) maybe I still have memories about my old K10 and K-r. K30 is so superior to all of my previous bodies, that upgrading a firmware sounds totally unnecessary.

Right, upgrading a firmware sounds totally unnecessary. Firmware 1.00 is better than 1.01 .

Well, I couldn't tell any difference in live view AF, I checked CDAF and PDAF in low light on fixed targets before and after the update. I don't use movie mode hardly at all but I was hoping the AF there would improve - it didn't. I don't understand how the CDAF in stills can be quite decent but the movie AF rubbish. Oh well, manual focus is far better for movies anyway. Focus peaking in movies would have been very nice.

Same like me, I hope firmware 1.01 will solve problem face autofocus mistake about 2-3 % when use live view. But I was disappointed.
It is worse.
