Joining the K30 Club!

It's been ages since I posted here, because quite frankly I mostly take pictures of my new daughter (she just turned one!) and between taking those pictures and taking care of her, I don't have much free time. But she's getting older and more independent now, and my K200D was getting older too, so for Christmas I got the funds to buy a new camera - and of course I chose the K30!

For the record, the K200 still works (sometimes the batteries are wonky) and I shot 143, 639 photos with it. It is a great camera, but I'm betting the K30 is going to make some pretty decent photos as well

It was already dark by the time the camera arrived, but I did manage to get this one of my little girl after her bath:

I can't wait to take it out tomorrow!

Congratulations on the K-30 and your new daughter! It's been ages since I've last seen you posted. Enjoy the new camera, it will surely surprise you with it's great high ISO capabilities and possibly low light AF with the assist lamp and all that your K200D doesn't have.

Your daughter is going to have the most incredible photo album! Congrats on your new cam; I know you'll do great things with it - that sensor is pretty amazing...

Take care and happy new year!

Keitha,

Boy, have I missed your photos at the "other" forum. I always looked forward to your creative eye and extraordinary processing.

I have recently moved from the K200D (still have it with about 15K shots) to the K-30 as well but I know for a fact our images won't compare.

Do you ever pop in at dpr anymore?

Looking forward to seeing images.......

BrianC

PS. Congrats on the daughter. I have my first grandson and I almost forgot what it's like to have a little one around again;

She is beautiful.

I'm sure you'll take thousands more shots of her and she'll love them some day.

Taking shots of my kids were the reason for my getting the K-x and after that broke, my K-30.

Congrats on the new camera, and bigger congrats on the first birthday!

Thanks, everyone! Now that spring is here, I'm able to take the camera out more. I'm still rusty with the differences between the K30 and the K200D (I can't count how many times I meant to switch to manual focusing and instead found myself in AF-C), but I really love what I'm getting with this camera!

I'm starting to love that AF switch because it means I can swap from catch-focus to regular shooting with a flip of the finger instead of having to dig through menus. Its silly, but its VERY convenient.
