I can add a bit more info to all the usual K-30 user impressions......... I dropped my K-30 with 35/2.4 lens and it survived! Actually the dangling camera strap caught in an office chair arm rest while walking past and yanked the camera out of my hand and bang with quite a bump it went onto the thin hard-ish office carpet tiled flooring from hip height. It still works and has zero physical damage. Concrete might have been different but indoors it's a toughy.

I agree with the other posters here. The K30 is a solid DSLR and the best APS-C on the market in its price bracket imo.
My two complaints with the K30 are the loud shutter and the dust removal system. Ive already got a few dust spots on mine. Very annoying.

Really! Why is that? I must admit it doesnt bother me when im out and about taking snaps as the noise of the outdoors over rides it, but indoors its too loud for me. Maybe because im coming from a Kx and i really hated the 'Ka-Thunk!' that shutter made, so it brings back memories.

Great photos!

I see you like taking your K30 into the snow. So do I. What lenses do you normally use?

Heh. I just got a Tokina 28 2.8 and an M 50 1.7 from a Salvation Army this past week, and I was commenting to myself that they would make a lovely 1-2 punch combo for almost any situation.

How have those metal lenses been handling themselves in the cold?

after about a week of shooting, got some sensor dust showing up when stopped down. Clean sensor was good while it lasted!

I was thinking the same thing. I like the shutter sound too. The auto focus I don't like that sound so much.

I just got my K30 and I love it too. It is awesome. The best camera for the price for sure. I am amazed at how well it does in low light on indoor shooting with out a flash. It's everything I wanted and more.

The autofocus sound changes drastically from lens to lens, some being silent but I haven't got any of those to be able to tell you from the horse's mouth as it were. I rely on manual focus and focus peaking for silence
