Good price?

Hi All,

I'm going to buy my K-30 this week and I happened to check Overstock.com. Here is what I see for a new K-30: Pentax K-30 16.3MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm & 55-300mm Lens Kit. The price is $963.
The also have: Pentax K30 16.3MP Black Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm AL and 50-200mm. The price is $850.

I like the first option, if it comes in the white version, because of the 55-300mm. I would sell the 18-55mm and get the 55-135mm as recommended by other Forum members. But, its been recommended that I call B&H and Adorama. I'm thinking maybe the post purchase support maybe better with B&H or Adorama than buying from Overstock. I'm calling B&H and Adorama tomorrow to check prices.

I think the prices at Overstock, with two lenses is decent - opinions?

Thanks,

B&H has the same kit for $946, actually:
Pentax K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL and 55-300mm AL 15656

I would personally opt for B&H because they give you free UPS ground shipping, which is a pretty big bonus. Add to that the 2% gift card.

If you e-mail Jacob Waldner at jwaldner@adorama.com and say you're a pentaxforums user, he will be able to get you a quite with with Adorama's lowest price also, so I'd check with him as well before making my decision.

You'll sell the 18-55 and buy the 55-135? Or did you mean 18-135?

I contacted Adorama as suggested. They quoted close to $1350 for the body and 18-135 lens.

I know in another post you've mentioned that you won't be going with the K-30. But since you quoted the price here from Adorama, if you look at B&H today, the price currently is $1024.95 with shipping. That includes a $75 instant savings. I'm not sure if the price is any different if you call which can be the case when just purchasing lenses.

Just purchased K-30 with 18-135 for $1021.95 from the Adorama website and it included a bundle with a Pentax Slingbag, AA adapter, Pentax 2yr extended warranty, and an 8GB SD card. On top of that they give a 2% rewards code so that's another $20 I get to spend at Adorama in the future.

Yep, I got the same not too long ago. Now sure where the $1350 is coming from unless that included another lens or something.
