I did some experimentation to see how close I could bet to matching the K100 in jpeg. The K30 has a setting called "Vibrant" and the results are very close, not including the obvious sharper results on the K30. The standard setting "Bright" is a little washed out. I will try some other tests, but I think either the OP has not explored the other settings in the K30 or has a defective unit. Also, the lcds are quite different, so that may be a factor as well. Bottom line, the K30 is vastly superior.
