Wondering about which lens to get for the K30

Hi guys,

I have recently lost my Kx with standard 18-55 lens that I used mostly for indoor dark shots(night life photos), I know it's not the best option but the people I work for don't mind, and I can recognize the camera and lens do an okay job.
Now I'm thinking of getting a k30, and I'm right now at a dilemma on which lens to get with it, 18-55 or 18-135 which are within my budget, I took a look at some reviews and some 18-135 shots and I totally love its close range focus, but I can't really seem to find that many samples of the indoor dark shots that I'm interested in.
Does the 18-135 have some drawbacks for indoor shots? Should I stick with 18-55 or try out the 135, adding that I'm actually quite interested in shooting with a different lens since I'm sort of a beginner and only had my good old kx with 18-55.

The 18-135mm is going to be at least just as good as the 18-135mm indoors. The faster AF may improve your indoor focusing experience, even though the aperture ratings remain the same.

The 18-135mm is noticeably better than the 18-55mm at least on my wife's k-x. Enough better that she complained I had not gotten the 18-135 for her before.

It is heavier though which may or may not be a consideration. It also has quick-shift and the DC motor focusing system, both advantages over the DA L 18-55 IMHO.

While I have no experience w/ the 18-55mm lens, I just bought a K-30 with the 18-135mm WR and love it. Quick-shift has been useful to me too, for instance we went to the GA Aquarium the other day and I was taking pics at their frog exhibit. In the cases where the AF locked onto a branch or leaf instead of the frog behind it I was able to adjust the focus very easily with a small manual adjustment.
