K-30, suggestions for improvement

Hey Pentaxforums! My K-30 is my first DSLR and this is my first post! I'd love any and all suggestions for improvement.

I've moved your post to its own thread for better visibility. If you'd like suggestions for improvement, please post some of your photos!

+1 It is hard to recommend improvements without samples

I'm trying so hard to post some and can't seem to get it right! Perhaps I'm using an outdated browser, in which case I'll need to wait until I'm on a better computer tomorrow.

Looks like they uploaded just fine to an album, and I inserted the link into your post! You can also use the attachment button to add photos directly to posts.

Thanks- I was formatting the HTML but nothing was showing up (and I'm not a tech noob either!) I'm trying again, photos are showing up when I hit "preview post"

Using RAW once you've mastered it on the PC would enable that extra 'something' that makes images look more natural and yet impressive at the same time. For instance, that second photo could get rid of the not too bad sky burnout and darkish buildings with a bit of highlight recovery for the sky and a bit of shadow lift for the buildings.

Improvement? Metering.

Mine is often fine, then on whim, sucks. I have to go down to -3EV sometimes.

I do recognize the skyline and AT&T bat tower. I checked out your gallery. I would recommend watching where the focus is. In the one of the gentleman the focus seems to be on his shirt pockets instead of his face. The one of the girl on horse back . The horse is in focus but not the girls face More. DOF would have helped both of these. They are not bad just could beimproved.
That being said I really liked the brown door with the brown brick .
