This is a sad day as i am having to send my k30 into get fixed under warranty, I live in the uk. I am just wondering how long it will take to get my camera back?

Well from here, Canada, by the store i was told that when the camera is sent to the manifacturer it might take from 3 to 6weeks.
Altho the store i bought it from has 1 year full replacement warranty (I paid for an extra year.... so 2years) Along with 3 years after the 2 years where any repair will be done in store by specialists.
Maybe have a look at this option if you bought it from a store that can fix the problem you have

Also, if i recall, they mentioned something about being able to follow the progress of the repairs of your camera through pentax website

3-6 weeks, wow! We are lucky here in Sweden:
Service - Kamera service i Kungsör AB
"Warranty reparations is usually done in 3 days, year around"
"Other reparations, non-warranty, are also generally performed in 3 days, after the cost estimate gets approved."

I feel for you. I'm getting ready to send my K-30 back also. Every picture comes out so underexposed that it is black. I can take pictures in manual mode, but any other mode underexposes so bad that the photos are totally dark. I have really been enjoying my K-30 too. Glad I held on to my K200!

This is just a quick update, I sent my K30 away and i didn't hear anything until i got it back 6 days later. I was ecstatic, so I went out imediatly to take some test shots, the initial problem was fixed but I noticed that the view finder was really dirty and the photos had dust spots. I then decided to take a photo of a blank wall at f22 to see if the sensor was dirty and it was really bad (i tested it a few days before the problem occured so i know the sensor was clean before i sent it away) I am Know trying to get back in touch with Jpservies to try and get them to clean the sensor and View finder

I just got my K-30 back from Pentax warranty repair! They said they replaced the aperture control unit.
I slapped a lens on it last night and it works just like it used to!
Now to reset all of the custom settings ....

Another update! I got my camera back for the second time and the sensor hadn't even been touched while the viewfinder had been cleaned of the crap that was on it, it now has a really obvious finger print on it. So my K30 is back at the service centre.
