K-30 leaving us soon?

The K-30 18-55mm kit (which went up in price after today's IR's) is showing up as "discontinued" at B&H when you go to select the black body color:
Pentax K30 Digital Camera with 18-55mm AL Lens Kit (Black) 15624

While it could just be an error, Pentax also brought over tons of K-r colors to the US just before discontinuing the camera itself. Do you think that the K-30 might be history after the summer?

That camera has to have sold pretty well with it hitting multiple "most sold DSLR" lists and with all the very positive reviews and feedback. I would be surprised if they killed that line but a pretty intense update schedule wouldn't hurt.

I really doubt it. It's a nearly perfect mid-entry level camera. Maybe they've just discontinued boring (black) .

Even if it is leaving it is a real good camera at a great price
So I hit the click button and bought a K-30 with 18-135 WR at less than a grand. This camera will be perfect for me

I 5hink that if they're bringing out new models in the fall, it's time to clear inventory. Otoh, b&h has a lot of lenses in back-order status. Maybe it's just a b&h thing.. Clearing their shelves of low-selling models?

Maybe they're bringing out a K-30 II or IIs out soon? For me it was perfect...pro enough for me but friendly enough for my wife, a non-technical person to use. (she loves all the "Scene" modes whereas I've never even used that setting, for instance).

Seems too soon, but maybe they could do a simple update with the 24mpx sensor. The megapixel wars rage on.

Better be something pretty amazing replacing it if this is true. The K-30 is without question the best value DSLR available. I have nothing but praise for mine.

I hope they don't do the K200d to KX transition again.

I suspect they're only discontinuing the non-WR kit because of issues with people buying it, then ruining the thing by throwing the camera under a stream of water saying "Hey, Bubba, watch this...!"

The 18-55 WR kit is still listed.

as "discontinued" at B&H
It seems to be B&H process to mark an item as discontinued when they cannot order from their source with any firm date of delivery. Over the years, I have seen many, many items miraculously restored to continuation on the B&H Web site.

That kit was dropped and replaced by this one:

Pentax K-30 Digital Camera with DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR 15601

Also, what would be the point of introducing several new colors if the camera is going to be discontinued?
