My new k-30 wont turn on

I have had the k-30 for about 3 months now but last week something terrible happened. While listening it fairly loud music my camera vibrated off of a high shelf in my room. About 6 or 7 feet and appeared to have hit the ground directly lens first. This broke off the part on the lens that connects it to the camera. In addition a small crack is now on the bottom of the camera body. And now the camera won't turn on. Are there any tricks I could try to get the camera working again? I fully charged the battery over night and this morning still nothing. I will also post a picture of the damage. I know the lens needs to be fixed I just don't understand how this could of broke the camera.

Okay I think you learned a valuable physics lesson, so I won't elaborate further on that.... And sorry to say, I think you are about to pay the educational fee for that physics lesson. You should send this camera and lens in for repair .... and don't be surprised if you are told it isn't worth repairing either.

Ouch! That's really too bad. Thing is, with digital cameras, you can't just crank some screws and make it work again. Likely some electronics inside are damaged

You will need to send it in. Enough G-forces were generated from that 7 foot drop that most likely some solder joints on components or other internals have come loose or broken.

Thank you everyone for the responses this is what I figured. Its just a bummer because I only got to use it a few times. I'm taking it in to the local camera store sometime next week I'll tell you guys what the real damage is once I find out.
