K-30 Buying Advice? When? Where?

Just a bunch of stuff going around in my mind, and maybe someone can help me clarify...

History:
I have had a K-x for almost 3 years now and have loved it and learning how to use a DSLR. I have slowly upgraded my lens collection, but I think I'm about ready to upgrade the body. I've been thinking of the K-30 for a number of reasons, but I'm especially needing/wanting to move to a WR body. I already bought the DA 18-135 in anticipation of the move. I don't really need the K-30 until January 2014 when I have a trip planned that almost certainly will involve rainy weather.

So:
  1. Do I try to take advantage of the current instant savings which makes the price of the black body $499 at B&H? That savings is supposed to expire June 30. Or I could get it on Amazon for $459 from that Emmy Photo. (I see others on this forum have purchased there, usually without incident.)
  2. I really kind of had my eye on the blue body, but even w/ the instant savings, it costs $549. $50 is enough difference for me to go with the black... but I could get the blue on Amazon from Electronics Basket for $489. (Again, mostly positive but some mixed results from that merchant. Or does B&H or Adorama ever try to come close to price matching?)
  3. OR... since I don't need it until January, am I better waiting to the fall. (I want at least a couple months before the trip to get comfortable w/ the camera.) Are there likely to be other sales/savings coming out later in the year?
  4. Or maybe I should wait until that new "K-50" comes out? (Yeah, I know, as of now, it's still a mythical camera w/ an unknown if ever release date.) I'm guessing the K-30 drops further, or maybe I'd even go w/ the updated model... From what I've read, it's futile to try to determine any regular schedule for Pentax to release updated bodies, so that's just a big guess.
So, what would you do? Thanks for any advice. (I may need to quote you when making the argument to buy to my wife!)

$499 is already a pretty low price, and I'd go for the black because it'll have a higher resale value later on. If you've bee using a K-x for 3 years, I think now would be a perfect time to upgrade Remember that the camera launched at a pricetag of $799 hehe...

Got mine from Amazon (Emmy photo). Super deal with the 18-135. Love the camera and the lens, super service..it was around $100 cheaper there Han B&H or Adorama, at least that day.

Hold on with your purchase. I bought K-30 + 18-55mm lens 2 weeks ago for $499. There are 2 issues. 1) It comes with non WR lens. What's the point of selling water resistant body with regular lens. 2) memory card issue. I have yet to find 32GB or 64GB memory card that works with K-30.

Thanks for the confirmation about the Amazon merchants. I was looking at B&H, but I see they no longer offer the Pentax Extended 2 year warranty, so now I have to think about whether to add the $70 or so to extend protection using SquareTrade... Always something...

It seems you can buy Pentax warranty at Adorama and buy camera anywhere else.

@Slaweks: That is good to know re: the warranty. Thanks.

Another factor:
Adorama only sells the K-30 in kits. You can't buy the body only.
At B&H, you can buy the body and have the option of getting a Pentax lens at significant discount. I'm looking at the DA L 35mm f2.4 AL for $146 as a pretty good deal...
(The other options are the DA 50 f1.8 for $117; the D FA 50mm f/2.8 Macro for $447; the DA 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 ED for $447.)
I don't see how you can get in on that lens deal through Amazon merchants, so that makes B&H look a better deal.

You can choose up to 2 lens. That's very good deal. I wish I knew it before I bought my K-30 with standard lens. DA L 35mm f2.4 AL is the lens I use 95% of time.

I am using a SanDisk Extreme 32GB card with my K-30 and have never experienced any issues.

I use PNY and do not have problems as well.
Kingston cards will not work.

Thanks all. I'll update more, but I ended up buying the K-30 black for $499 from B&H. I have the WR 18-135. I am using a Lexar 64Gb SD XC card with no problem.
