Happy Imaging Resource comments about K50/K500

This is a really nice endorsement here.

I can't get over the K500 pentaprism viewfinder. How smart of Pentax to limit their production overhead to only prisms and not mirrors. Some smart operational management there. We're back to istD land but with amazing everything except maybe processor and video though that seems to be improving.

Could have been a lot warmer. And more honest. I didn't care for this paragraph:

"It's packed with advanced photographic capabilities that rival the likes of what's found in the mid-level Canon T5i and Nikon D5200 -- but for a lot less money. (The obvious shortcoming, of course, being the K-500's 16.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, which significantly trails in resolution to the latest Canon and Nikon mid-level models.)"

Should say this instead:

It's packed with advanced photographic capabilities that beat the living snot out of the likes of what's found in the mid-level Canon T5i and Nikon D5200 -- but for a lot less money. (The K-500's 16.3-megapixel APS-C sensor, has fewer megapixels but most photographers will never see a difference.)

What about the 100% pentaprism, dual wheels, AF Adjust? All found on a Pentax base model, not on rival mid-level models.

It's a mixed bag review by a newbie on their staff. The fact that they did it, and quickly, on a Pentax is somewhat amazing. As for the slam about the sensor - its still out performing many of the "newer" sensors. The writer obviously comes from the "if its newer it must be better" camp, which is sad for someone who graduated from Georgia Tech.
