K-50 Shutter Noise?

Hi, gang -

Once folks start getting their hands on K-50's, could someone please comment on the volume of the shutter/mirror? While I love my K-r, this issue is one that perpetually irks me. I don't want this thread to turn into a discussion about the K-r, but if someone could compare the shutter noise of the K-50 to the K-5 and/or K-30 (or K-r), this would be very useful info.

Thanks!
Ryan

It's the same as that of the K-30. I'll be able to post a video of it early next week.

I asked this question about the K30 and folks told me that it was no different than Canon or Nikon DLSRs. I went to the camera store and tested that theory and they were right. The D7000, 60D, and 5D MK III were just as loud. The shutter sound doesn't bother me anymore.

Yep, it's Pentax fault for spoiling us with some of their cameras!

Darn. I remember the consensus being that the K-30 was only slightly quieter than the K-r. The K-5 was in a different league.

Here's a video showing the K-50 shutter sound:

Thanks, Adam. Sounds K-30ish, as commented above.

I wish they offered a K-5-like quiet shutter in a K-30/50-type body. Put in an input mic jack and that would really seal the deal for me!

(My K-01 has a silent shutter and an input mic jack but obviously it lacks a good grip, VF, autofocus speed, etc. So I'd basically like to buy a K-5 that has the K-30's focus peaking feature and better video capabilities. Guess I should wait for yet another future generation...).
