I received my K-50 black body this week.
A DA40 limited is mounted to make a handy outdoor camera and travel companion.
First impressions.
It has a no-nonsense straightforward design, I think minimalists can live with it.
The top panel has a little bit too much curves to my taste, but that's personal.
The finish is very good (black is really matte).
All the panels are tightly fit, with very narrow gaps.
The Battery compartment door works very smooth, good construction.
The rubber door for external power supply is a bit too tight, quite some pressure is needed to make it fit.
Comparing it to the K5-II (my other camera):
The shutter is a bit louder, but not extremely loud.
Body is plastic, so the switches are sounding a bit less solid (mode dial, e-dials).
Notably the back panel sounds less solid.
The grip has about the same quality and texture as the K5-II (rubbery).
I think the LCD panel cover is from polycarbonate, not glass (not 100% sure).
It is not extremely light (840 gr, + DA40 limited, AA batteries).
Viewfinder same as K5-II.
No ISO button (use button on selector).
Overall a nicely built camera, I'm content with it.
