Khm, I read about green button and metering with manual lenses a lot and don't understand what you all are talking about. I just went to settings, turned apperture one and shoot in Av mode without any problems and without pressing anything but shutter button. Do you guys talk about manual lenses with autoaperture control? Because I have only full manuals and control apperture directly on the lens.

With a K mount lens or an M42 lens?

With an M42 lens it will work OK in Av mode, since the camera has no control over the aperture and it stays wherever you set it all the time. You are effectively always doing stop down metering. There are inaccuracies due to the non-linear nature of the default focusing screen, but it will work well enough with some exposure compensation added as you stop down.

With a K mount lens without the A contacts it will only work wide open, it will ignore whatever the aperture ring is set to. If you take a shot wide open in Av mode and it gives you a shutter speed of 1/100, put the aperture ring at f8 and the camera will still shoot at 1/100, but the image will not be underexposed because the lens never actually went to f8.
