Greetings.

Upgraded from K-x to K-30 recently. Everything a/b K-30 is great EXCEPT my flashgun does not work on K-30 (i tried upgrading to latest 1.05 camera firmware, no change). Instead of flashing once when shutter pressed, it either does not flash OR it goes crazy flashing continuously on and off a/b 5-10 times per second until I turn it off. Any ideas or suggestions? I can provide more specific info, if asked. It stills works fine on my K-x. If I can't solve, guess I'll have to use my K-x when using the flassgun (rare activity anyway).

My metz 45 same problem high speed continuous flash, metz have a firmware update for it but it requires sending to them and costs money.
My metz 48 would not work in hss but they also came out with a upgrade so there is a difference with the two cameras ,it's not your flash,or camera faulty.

Vivitar doesn't list any fash that works with the K30. The last Pentax camera listed by Vivitar is the Kr.

I had the same problem with a Metz AF48 until they put out a firmware update so evidently Pentax changed something in the circuitry.

Well, I think I got it working now in Manual mode :^/

Sigma Service couldn't update my EF-500 DG Super so they let me trade it in for a 610. Something drastic changed in the K-30's flash system, all the 3rd party flashes had issues it seems.
