composition adjustment?

Got my K-30, and I can't see how the composition adjustment feature is useful. My understanding is it can be used to adjust for perspective when shooting a building or something from a low vantage point. But In practice, I don't see any difference in the photos taken with the composition adjustment at either extreme, compared to the normal center position. Am I missing something?

Charles.

Hi Charles
So far as I'm aware, it does not alter perspective. All it's doing is shifting the sensor from side to side.
Regards,
Mark

The above link shows the effect of composition adjust. Is yours not working similarly?

Okay yes it does that. I guess that's useful for that situation, and perhaps more useful for macro. But I was under the impression this could be used in a tilt/shift capability, in order to correct the perspective of a building. Otherwise, I don't really see the usefulness...

Shift, yes, tilt, no. Still can't beat a traditional T/S lens on a full-frame.

It's not really "useful" specifically for the composition adjust - it's a nice little extra to have. Helps with doing macro especially. The SR feature on Pentax cameras have many little extras that when combined - gives the k-5/k-30/k-3 quite the edge on some other cameras.
