I don't know where you are and I notice B&H had them in the past for 659$ and no longer stock them, so I assume that was a clear out price.. Herny's have them in Canada for $899.

I usually go to this site type in the lens I want, in this case the Sigma 8-16, and end up here…

Sigma 8-16mm F4.5-5.6 DC HSM for Pentax - Canada and Cross-Border Price Comparison - photoprice.ca

One thing I have discovered is, no one stocks this lens, so no matter who you order it from, if Sigma Canada doesn't have it, no one can get it for you, and if they do have it, everyone can get it for you. The lens is at Sigma Canada, you're just deciding who special orders it for you. I assume that if B&H doesn't have it, it's because it's no longer available from Sigma US.

Oh, and in my experience, Henry's has a much better handle on whether they can get the lens than other retailers in Canada. Other places seem to just order it and then tell you when it doesn't turn up… but even that's not always true. You're making me really happy I got this lens when I did. I believe I got it for $100 off the regular Henry's price on sale.

I'm also beginning to understand why it's going for $1100 on ebay, you can have mine when you pry it from my cold dead fingers…

It's just too bad the K30 doesn't use the L190 batteries. Now we have to get extra L109s for the K30.

Get the D-BH109 Battery Holder

I'm sad the K-50 didn't keep the K-30 looks. That camera just rocks.
I don't get it myself..............

I got a cheap battery holder off ebay for ~$6.

And then I got a second one in case the first one breaks someday.

I've been thinking about those ebay battery holders, are those good? I'm a little afraid they could affect the camera in some way

I haven't used it extensively so far. I mostly use the lithium rechargable, and carry around the holder+AAs for backup.

It looks cheaper than the OEM holder, but it seems to do the job. As I said, I got a second one of these cheaper holders just in case
because my gear takes some punishment in the field. I'm not worried about the holder while it's in the camera, but if it's rattling around in the bottom of a knapsack with other heavy items, who knows? I should improvise some kind of little case to protect the AA holder + batteries.

YMMV

I'm sure mine cost no more than about A$5 on eBay. Get heaps better battery life than with the standard battery.
