the PDF manual from Ricoh's website is pretty convenient. Usually i find printed books easier to use than e-books, but this manual on my tablet is pretty easy and i keep my tablet in my camera bag.

I bought mine last week and it had a printed manual.
Sometimes they ship across borders so remove the manual if it's in another language - very common in the EU.
Was the factory tape seal still in place on the box.

I ordered a K-30 through Amazon from Electronics Basket. It didn't have a printed manual, and I had heard that it should. My K-10D did. I contacted Pentax (now Ricoh, of course) to see if they could send me one and was told that they all left the factory with manuals, but that they did not stock extras. Perhaps I acted out of anger (I love the booklet manual, but hate the pdf version), and I returned the unit for a full refund, because I assumed Electronics Basket had removed it and sold it. There was an obvious place for it in the box.
Just out of curiosity, I emailed Electronics Basket this week to ask them about it. They replied that "this item doesn't come with an booklet manual."
For quite a while now, Pentax has been one of the only camera manufacturers to continue providing a printed manual. It's very disappointing to think that they have stopped. With the complexity of today's DSLRs, a little booklet that fits in your gear bag is really nice to have. Sigh

Wow.... I think you were fed some misinformation by Electronics Basket. Maybe they meant "it doesn't some from us with a manual".

Mine didn't have a manual either...I just got mine last week.
I got my K-30 + 18-55 WR kit from Amazon.ca last August, and it came with a printed manual - in French!

I figured the printed french manual was just a concession to bilingualism here in Canada, and that English users were expected
to use the CD ROM version. Too late to complain to Amazon now.

A printed manual WBN, but I only ever referred to the CD-ROM a few times. If you already own a Pentax DSLR, the learning
curve isn't very steep.

The "What's in the box" section of the pdf manual lists the printed manual as an included item. Last week I repeated the question that I sent to Electronics Basket, this time to a different vendor on Amazon. The response the next day was, "I will check." A few days later, I sent, "Still waiting - any response to my question?" This time the response was, "Forwarded to sales dept." Still waiting. I'll post the response if I get it.
For those who did receive a printed (English) manual: Who was the vendor?

Bought mine in July from Amazon.de (external store) and no printed manual at all was included.

I did get a response in mid Feb. Digital Media Source answered in the affirmative. They'll be getting my money for the K-30. Thumbs crossed.
