Does the K-30 come with a printed manual?

Hi,

I just got a new K-30 from Amazon with 18-135 lens. At first look the camera is great but it didn't come with a printed manual. Is this always the case or did I get a repackaged device and they forgot to put the manual in? The shutter count is 0 so it seems the camera is new.

If Pentax doesn't ship with a printed manual, is there a way to get one? I hate PDF's

Cheers

It should have come with a manual. it might be possible to buy a printed manual on ebay, etc if you don't want to go through the return and exchange process.

Mine had one too. I would contact Amazon, or the people that actually sold you the camera, and see it the manual could be located. I am not sure if Amazon is the seller or was the middle man Since it works both ways. If that doesn't work than E-bay or try KEH

Amazon has outstanding customer service! Research how much a replacement manual will cost (including shipping), then contact them and let them know your pkg. arrived w/o a manual. Also tell them if they can't get you a manual, you'll be willing to take a refund in the amount it will take to replace it. If they can't get you the manual (likely not if shipped from a 3rd party), they'll gladly give you a partial refund.

Mine came with a paper manual but that was more than a year ago. Maybe they've run out of paper in the meantime.

It should definitely have come with a paper manual. I bought my K30 new from Hunt's and it had one.

Mine did and yours should have though I prefer using the pdf version.

A request may get you a printed manual from Amazon. That would be a lot cheaper than returning and reshipping.

If you're worried about your DLSR might not be brand new. Check for the shutter count, and observe the camera very carefully to see if there's is any wear of sign of use.
If it's brand new, I personally wouldn't bother for an exchange.

Hoya had a way on the Pentax website to order manuals ($8 total), but I don't see it on the Ricoh Pentax site.

The address and phone number when ordered in the past:

You can check the shutter count here on the forums . Remember that the shutter may have been fired a few times in QC and other areas at the factory. The link above should take you to the page to check shutter count

The shutter count was 20 after I took some pictures. so I think the camera is new.
