K-50 mono to stereo

Is there anyway to get stereo for K-50? Is that absolutely impossible?

it's possible with an external recorder. It has only one microphone and no input so there's noway you can get a second channel input. By the way an external recording device and syncing in PP would also give you much better audio.

You cannot do it in camera.
You will need to use a separate recorder to capture a stereo soundtrack and then mix it in post production.

Thanks for both replies! What do you guys think about a usb recorder with a computer aside a K-50. Would that work properly?

A portable recorder may be more convenient than a laptop , but I don't know your application.
Even adding a microphone to an iPhone would work for things like concerts.
If you are in a studio environment then USB mic to laptop sounds fine.

K-01 does stereo (two internal mics) and takes a stereo input. However, the audio codec is very limited so the best solution is to go the discrete PCM-capable recorder route. (The K3 finally achieved CD-quality audio.) I find the Olympus compact line to be the best value overall (I have an LS-7 - now discontinued), typically solid metal build, and compact.

Is the audio in the K-50 the same as the K-500?
