Got My K-50 Yesterday

All I can say is wow. This camera seems well built and solid. Just playing around with it and I am amazed by the quality of the images. Once I read the instructions and use my brain I'll post some photos.

Congrats! I'm trying to patiently wait for UPS to deliver mine.

What were your reasons for choosing the K-50 and what lens/lenses did you get?

I liked that it is well made, is water resistant, is a Pentax, takes good quality pictures and I can afford it. I got the Pentax 18-135 and the Pentax 50mm Prime.

You are going to be pleased with your purchase.

What influenced your decision to buy the K-50?

Very similar to yours. Build quality, weather resistance, and a feature set that rivaled some of the upper level Canikon's at a great price.

I'm definitely looking forward to it, I also got the 18-135 lens. Will stick with that for a while but I definitely see a good prime lens in my future. Was looking at the 50/1.8 and 35/2.4. Looking forward to hearing what you think of yours.

I got my K50 in November. In addition to the reasons for choosing it that others have already mentioned, I liked the fact that I could buy the adapter that lets me use my Takumar M42 screw mount prime lenses.

I just got my new K-50 also. Main reasons were WR and per-lens fine focus adjustment.

My K-50 is on the UPS truck and out for delivery! Upgraded from K-x to finally have a NEW camera at a great price ($479 B&H) having come from used K100D and used K-x. Have fun and Happy Holidays!

Got mine a couple weeks before xmas. Love it. It just feels right in my hands and after spending some time in the viewfinder, my friends Rebels feel cramped and cheap. Image quality is way better than Id hoped and I can truly say the weather sealing works like a hot damn. Picked up a sweet used 50mm 1:1.7 off the forums here for like 40 bucks, all metal body, sharp as hell. Crazy. Its a good thing Canon and Nikon have such ridiculous marketing budgets and brand Identity because they are getting owned on actually making good, affordable cameras.
