Make sure shutter speed is 1/180 or below?

Did you put the camera in wireless mode? Flash pad on 4way > move to wireless, then try.

We need a bit more info as to what the "some difficulty" is?

sorry for the confusion, i have yonguo 603 triggers. The difficulty is getting the flash to fire, i have one of the triggers in the hotshoe and the other on the foot of the flash, both are on the same channel.

Are the RF-603s the Nikon or Canon version? So far as I know, only the Nikon version will detect the 'awake' signal from a Pentax camera so that it can go into TX mode.

Can you verify that you have the camera shutter speed set to 1/180 or lower, and the flash is in M mode (manual, not P-TTL or Remote)? The left LED on both RF-603Ns should be green; the right LED on both should be green when you half-press the shutter button, then flash red when you fire the shutter.

If all this is true and the flash STILL doesn't fire, then I suspect it is a 'digital pin' problem. On the RF-603N's hotshoe, you will notice the contact closest to the power switch is smaller and flatter than the others. This contact is used for digital communications between the camera and flash. My older flashes don't have that contact, and they work fine on the RF-603N. Some newer flashes expect the RF-603N to put some information on that pin, or else they put something on that pin that confuses the RF-603N (I don't think it is that smart, to be honest); they won't fire unless you insulate the digital pin. A small piece of cellophane tape works fine.
