K30 shutter died, is this known factory fault?

Couple of weeks ago my K30 started acting strange, if i shot one picture it was dark, no matter the setup, but if i shot in continuous mode, the first image again would be dark, but the others looked ok. Went to the shop where i bought and the guy told me it's the shutter, and it's something that they've encountered couple of times, so it needs to be replaced. I've left the camera (4 days before my warranty was out) and now i'm still waiting for it from the service. Has anyone here heard about such issue or the guy from the shop has no idea what's he talking about?

I was using the camera for one year, shooting motorsports, i'd say around 12-13.000 shots before it went out :S

Shutter failures are rare (especially at your shutter count, which is relatively low), but they do happen. I don't think this is any sort of manufacturing defect or anything like that. I'm sure you'll get a new shutter under warranty and that'll be that

I have had aperture lever alignment issues with certain lenses. It was the fault of the lens more than anything. The lens's aperture lever would be bent inward for some reason so the camera would have nothing to latch onto. Images would come out dark to almost black. After a quick realignment everything was fine.
