I ended up not attending the last class, it was too cold and I wasn't getting much out of it the class anyhow. I hear you guys about getting my money back but it wasn't that much and not worth the trouble. Anyhow it made for a good story and got some peoples blood boiling on the forum so it may have been money well spent. Anyhow, after i buttered my toast with my M 50mm 1.7 it started taking clearer pictures
If nothing else, I'm glad you at least got a good story out of the deal.

I mostly hear "Pentax? They still make cameras?"
And what made "ME" not buy a Canon or Nikon?????

If I made a nickle for everytime I hear those 2 questions......... I'd be rich

In my experience most Canikon users have trouble using their own cameras, let alone helping anyone else...what menu is that in?

It's really only easier to buy them.

Which you find a lot of them in Pawn shops

I always say because it the next best thing to a Hasselblad which I will never be able to afford

They're some pretty good deals these days, but lens interchangeability between to the two brands can prove troublesome.

I think the "clear as butter" remark is the equivalent of the phrase we use down here, "clear as mud". In other words, other companies' lenses are garbage & incapable of producing clear results.
So according to that genius Leica lenses suck? And Zeiss lenses? Mhhh... riiiiiiight.

Funny, my favorite camera store has IIRC 5 employees using Pentax.

Sadly I think I'm the one who is pretty smug looking down at Canon and Nikon users...

Any good deal on a digital Hasselblad is still way way out of my and my bank managers financial comfort zone

I posted this the other day, my reply was completely ignored and the poor Canikon owners carried on debating about their water proof bin bag options, such fun

When I was younger I fly fished for trout. I suppose someone might have once wagged a Sage rod at me and smirked at my Winston or Loomis, but I don't think so. I do know the activity became very fashionable with the hot money crowd in the 2000's and all the good streams were overrun with bozos, but they've either had to sell their gear or moved on to destination golfing.

The only thing that I really remember is once when fishing with a used cane rod I'd just bought somebody went on and on about how much better graphite is than that old stuff.

Thankfully, when fishing, one can just move on to the next riffle.

None of the casting teachers or tieing instructors I've visited has ever said I was using bad gear - even the $100 Lamiglas starter rod I used for at least a decade.

had my antique 'Perfect' period, like all of we Americans with more money than sense. eBay made any kind of gear lust possible. At least I learned if I'm afraid to use it I should sell it.

Ahem.

Aye the beats can also be "Perfect", but you need to be in the bank robbing business to be able to afford to fish them.
