K-30 AF points position

Has anyone noticed that the 2 AF points just left & right of centre aren't where the red dot says they are? On my K-30, the real positions are well towards the centre, with the red dot being just on the edge of the active area. Explains a lot of mis-focused shots!

The size of those AF points is pretty frustratingly larger than indicated in the viewfinder. Here is a fun experiment, print out a piece of paper with a big black square. If you aim your camera at it and can focus on it then that means your AF point can see contrast between the block and the white space. If you are too close you won't be able to focus because there is no contrast. That will give you a feel for how big those AF points are.
