can't see exposure settings with manual lens

So I just purchased my K-50 and I am trying use an old Tamron 70 - 210 lens that I had from my old 35mm slr. I find it can be used in Av setting but the lens is always in the wide open aperture setting or I can use the M setting. When using the manual setting I can manually adjust the aperture, shutter speed and ISO but I have no idea what he exposure level is. Is there a way to read this? I am not very good at guessing!

If the lens' aperture ring does not have an "A" setting it can't communicate the f stop and you need to use stop down metering. There are some tutorials in the beginners section.
