I cannot say with the K-50 and I am not sure that the laser scribing is to blame. This took me completely by surprise and I have to further characterize the issue. All I know at this point is that metering on the K-3 becomes flaky in moderately dim light at f/5.6 maximum aperture.

Moderate FL (24mm to 135 mm) prime lenses were likely as good in the 1960's or 1970's as today. The specifics depend on the lens. E.g., I wonder if the 35mm takumar f/3.5 can be equaled. Yes the lens coatings now are better but a good hood makes a big difference--and in some ways the earlier lenses are better. Anyway either way there are many excellent lenses.
