Just got back from a trip to the Valley of Fire (Nevada) and Zion National Park ( Utah) with my k-50, thought I would show a few photos for review.

Nice. I'm going to Vegas in October. I'll have to check out the Valley of Fire.

Here are a few more shots, just in case that link isn't allowed or doesn't work by any chance.

Here is the question of the day, should I upgrade to the new K3-II or just keep shooting the k-50 until next year?

kinda depends upon what you think the K-50 isn't giving you that the K3-II could....

Answer of the day: You can fund much or all of a pretty darn good photo safari to go on right now and take pictures with your K-50 with the money you'd otherwise spend on a K3-II. Unless money is no object, of course.

I agree about the cost! I am 99% of the time a manual shooter, with old glass as well....I have almost all of the features turned off at all times in my camera. I shoot again almost everything 100% manual, (M) mode, and 135mm takumar / 24-50mm so I just didnt know if the k3-II really offered much of an advantage or just a lot of electronic bells and whistles.

if it were my money (and it isn't), I'd save the money a K3-II would cost and invest it in old glass....

but that's just me...

Soooo...that's what you tell your significant other: "I'm not buying more useless lenses, I'm investing in glass futures" !!!

bingo!

of course, when I extoll the virtues of the new acquisition for an hour, she usually rolls her eyes and walks away..... and I keep the glass...
