Well hello there!

Want to here a secret?

The K50 is a pretty great little camera, it kept right up with the K3.

That is awesome!

The first two were shot with the DA*16-50 and the last one was with the DA*50-135. This was the first time I took the K50 on a shoot and I can say it will not be my last. Very impressed with this great little camera.

Not as clear as other bird pics here, but then these were taken from an 8.2m sailboat w/ Pentax 55-300 SMC DAL. Winds 15-30 knots though much lower under the bluff here. Eagle is 50m up and about 50m over so call it 70m away by Pythagoras or maybe a bit more. Boat speed about 3.5 knots, waves under 1m under the bluff as bluff is directly windward. F13, ISO 400. Exposures 1/640 and 1/500 sec using aperture priority. Both taken at full 300mm fl. Cropped to near 100%. Handheld, of course. (xposted to 55-300 sharpness thread).

Just got my K-50 today! I'm brand new to DSLR's so don't judge the pictures too much. These were about 5 minutes after opening the box! Very happy with the quality, especially since I have no experience and this was the kit lens.

No judging and all the help you need; just ask! The K-50 is a great camera and the nothing wrong with the kit lens, especially to get started. Good luck and enjoy!

No judging here. Those some are some nice shots, cute pups. Enjoy your new camera. It really is a fine camera. Pentax offers some of the best kit lenses on the market.
Here are a few more K50 shots from last weekend.
Da*50-135 135mm f3.2 ISO 100, at 135 you need to stop down a little or the DOF is just to shallow.

Da*50-135 58mm f3.2 ISO 100

Da*50-135 95mm f6.3 ISO 320

Thanks guys! I'm still learning about all the settings like White balance, aperture priority, etc. But it's a lot of fun to play around with the camera and see what happens!

Thank you! I'm very pleased with the K-50 so far. I LOVE your shots! Animals are definitely my favorite thing to take pictures of.
