Took my new K-50 for a whirl this morning up to Morialta, just out of Adelaide. I only have the Sigma 70-300mm at the moment, I've got a DA 35mm on order at a local place.

Thanks guys, I'm very happy with it so far. I fudged a few shots though and blew them out, I was wondering why the metering was always reading nearly spot on and I rarely look at the lcd screen, turns out I had the electronic level turned on in place of the meter. I now have this sorted and will hopefully head off again this weekend. We are lucky here with National Parks so close to the city that are filled with wildlife, Morialta has a massive gorge running through the middle with a waterfall at one end, all about 15 mins East of the city in the Adelaide Hills
I am very impressed with the cheap Sigma, for 139 Aussie Dollars delivered it's an absolute bargain.

Picked up the DA 35mm f/2.4 today, had a quick walk around the Botanic Gardens, didn't much time, bloody weddings everywhere, parking was a nightmare, then wife and kids were finished shopping and I had to pick them up. The bird, duck and bee shot are with the Sigma 70-300mm, other with the 35mm

Very nice pictures Grippy! The DA35 was my first lens I purchased for my K50, I just could not get us to the very noisy focus. I have recently purchased a HD DA35 macro Limited and FA31 Limited, so it will sit in my camera case. I will not sell it, I am recently divorced and have no budget so do not have to sell one to purchase another I shoot to please myself and try to fill that big hole in my chest, I have posted many pictures on this board but get no replies, so I guess most are junk, that's ok! Keep on shooting you are doing a great job and only going to get better!

Thanks mate. II found the focus on the 35mm to be nice and quiet, it makes a nice small, light and versatile setup.
I have made the move from Olympus 4/3 and love the lens choice for Pentax, there is just so much available at decent prices.

For the money it's hard to beat the DA 35. I have CP I use with mine that really helps with daytime shots. It's different to hear someone moving from 4/3. Glad you are enjoying Pentax. I have stuck with Pentax since I still have way too many old legacy lenses. The DA 50 1.8 is also an excellent buy, mine is sharper than my 35.

Not alot of commenting goes on here in the forums it seems. I rarely get comments on anything I post. I just recently picked up a K50 so I just started posting here.

I've already posted the color version in another thread (and you can see it in my Flickr photostream), but here's the monochrome:

Thank you, there were taken at a wildlife sanctuary. Most of the animals are rescued from poorly funded zoos and the illegal animal trade. The 50-135 is an excellent lens if you can look past the focusing speed. It is the sharpest lens I own, even sharper than the 16-50.
