Just got home from an awesome Saturday night at Speedway City in Adelaide, a whole heap of various racing and finished off with a demo derby. I scored the 10-17mm fisheye on the Bay for a steal and only picked it up from the Post Office this morning.

Look like you did a good job. My DA*16-50 is not that sharp, I purchased a Sigma 17-50 to take its place and giving it to my daughter to shoot weddings
Thank you, the 16-50 is a temperamental little beast. It took me awhile to really learn ts quirks. Mine required a +3 focus adjustment on my K3 but none on my K50. I am a big fan 0f quick shift focus. In that shot I made on final minor adjustment before I took the shot. I did not nail it spot on but I was close. At 50mm and f2.8 you depth of field is about an inch or so. Simply moving the camera back on forth can ruin your shot. This shot is 50mm at f2.8. The eye is focus but the beak is not.

The 10-17 is a great lens, super sharp stopped down. I just wrote a review on mine. The only draw back is the aberrations in high contrast situations. It was my DA lens back in 2008. That is a great shot.

I found the same problem, I had to set mine at +6 on my K50 and still not very sharp I have found that all my Pentax lenses have to be stopped down to get any sharpness or dof. My daughters Nikon and 35mm lens has much more dof at the same f stop, we take the same picture and like you say my grand daughters eye is in focus and her nose or ears are out. With the Nikon her entire head is in focus.

Yeah there is a lot of glass packed into those DA* lenses. This is not with my K50 but with my K3, however this is why I like my 16-50 so much.

Went for a walk through Cobbler Creek park which is about 2 streets away from my house, had to dodge a large Eastern Brown Snake that had been sunning himself and moving quite quickly, the things are everywhere here and extremely territorial and venomous, #2 on the list after our Inland Taipan. It;s so warm and dry already and summer hasn't even kicked off.

And another one from Speedway last night, it was tricky trying to get shots through the fence

My wife shot me with the 18-55 lens.

Taken at the Lucayan National park in the Grand Bahama Island.
