I'm not a bird expert, but the yellow eye heavy black "eyebrow" says "Heron" to me.

Manipulated in Topaz B&W effects (I got the discount!). I wanted it to have a lot of dark space around the flower because I wanted to use it as a desktop background.

Whoa! I did a double take when I saw this. Here is my dog; they could be twins and even though it's not in the picture my couch looks a lot like yours!
