Just goes to show that if you ignore the babble about the kit lenses being crap and go out and shoot you can bring in some very nice images. Yeah, they may not be the sharpest wide open, they may not have the best color rendering, they may be prone to this or that distortion but the truth of the matter is that they are better by far that the equipment used by some of the past masters. Technical specs of the lens is only part, and perhaps not even the most important part, of the recipe.

IO Binary #

Took my camera for a walk...didn't really think I would get any shots, just goes to show you! I saw this and for some reason the first thing I thought was on/off, IO Binary #. HD DA 55 - 300 mm, iso 3200, 1/125s, f5.6

Excellent! The analogy is spot on and so is the image. I love the soft blue and sharpness of the spider webs. Great composition too!
