RAW is not a raster image format, it's data from the sensor which has not been processed by the camera's JPG settings.
The image you see on your camera LCD when shooting RAW is an embedded JPG preview which
has been processed, but is not how the RAW data appears in RAW developer apps..
RAW will always load into Lightroom/PCU or other RAW developer looking different to the processed JPG out of the camera (OOC) because, well - it hasn't been processed yet. The purpose of RAW is to allow you to chose the final photo appearance from the collected RAW data.
