I went for a walk up at Morialta this morning before it got too hot. I went up around the rim of the first falls and up through the gorge, we are lucky having National Parks so close to the city. I love walking up there, it's always filled with wildlife, although not many koalas today, probably a bit dry for them there is no water coming over the falls and just a few little rock pools of water left.

With El Niņo in full effect, it is time to break out my Pentax gear that is truly rain proof. I love shooting in the rain.

Thanks. I guess good lighting too.

I am trying out the Tamron 28-300mm lens, seems to be more sharper than Pentax old version 55 to 300 at 300mm, outdoor bright light. Indoor the Pentax is better or almost same as Tamron.

I like the 50-200 WR better than the above lenses. May be will try out the 55-300WR if my wallet allows.
I'm pretty satisfied with the 55-300wr. I have not tried the rest you've mentioned. I have my eye on the Sigma 18-300mm when it ever gets in stock. Still I'm not sure if I'll pay close to $600 for it.

The pics of the duck, bat, lemur and butterfly were in an indoor netted area. They were free-roaming. It was shot in high iso and I used topaz to clean it up. Pretty happy with how it turned out for my amateur ability and expectation.

Large storm out in North Atlantic off Greenland at the moment. These pictures were taken near St. John's, Newfoundland, temp -7C, wind 50-60kph, no rain but air completely saturated with salt spray, thick clouds made lighting very dark. Used Sigma 17-50 (first 2 pics) and 10-20 (2nd 2 pics) as my WR lenses were in another bag. 17-50 had autofocus problems after about a half hour out in these conditions. Not great clarity with either lens as salt spray covered protective filters quickly, but you get some idea of the severity of the storm, I think...

Nice! I like. High five!

A couple of Mad Hatter decorations that my wife did for an upcoming baby shower. Shot with the Pentax 50mm f/1.8 @ f/2.0 & processed in RawTherapee with a bit of Fuji Astia 100F added on.

Got a chance to try my pentax out in the rain the other day! I have to say, it's way more weather resistant than I am! Any tips for keeping rain drops off the lens? I put on a UV filter and a hood, but still couldn't keep it dry haha

I'm fairly happy with mine and it's weather resistance too, haven't properly tested it like my Oly E-1 and E-3 and been dunked by waves but it has been thoroughly wet.
As for keeping the lens dry, with a wide lens and the small hoods your going to be stuffed I think, a longer lens with narrower fov which allows longer hood works a treat.
