When I started out with the K-50, my first DSLR I found it could deliver straight of camera and looking back at some of them now I'm pleased with the way they turned out. This one used the landscape scene mode I think.
That turned out pretty good indeed!
The vintage look isn't a preset but I studied a preset that used the "split toning" module in Darktable to get textures to put a bit more emphasis on textures in the picture. I use it for flowers sometimes (see below). But I also found out that the split toning can be used to get a more vintage look to the pictures, and I intend to use it on portraits as well! I am finding that Darktable's modules are very, very high quality.
