K-30 Backup Battery?

Just got my K-30, and looking for an extra battery or two for an upcmoing trip. I searched Amazon and see a bunch D-Li109 batteries for roughly $15.

Can someone suggest a reliable brand/product that they use?

Thanks

$45 USD from Adorama with free shipping.

AA accessory holder $35. I would consider this a prime option.

You might also want to consider a more expensive generic. B&H sells a Watson D-Li109 for just under $20. If it is no good, they are real good for replacing.

Wasabi is a good third party brand. For $27 you get two batteries and a travel charger along with car and European adapters,
Amazon.com : Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack) and Charger for Pentax D-LI109 and Pentax K-r, K-30, K-50, K-500 : Digital Camera Batteries : Camera & Photo

Cheaper than ink for your inkjet photoprinter
Bottom Line:
If a third party battery damages your camera then you will have to pay for repairs, warranty won't cover it. And that will cost you more than fifty bucks.

Thanks.

I was looking at both Wasabi and Halycuon batteries on Amazon. Both seems to have good reviews.

Can't beat 2x batteries and a charge for $27.

I would be more concerned about a battery catching fire or exploding in the charger. I guess they can do that in the camera too if there is an internal short.

Good point, but what's the odds of that? 1 in 10 millions?

Is Pentax battery 100% bullet prooof?

I've never shot a Pentax battery, so not sure about that.

I use Wasabi. It lasts longer than the Pentax battery.

Apparently Sanyo Eneloop rechargeable Ni-MH AA's last longer than the stock Pentax battery. I have a couple of sets (and AA holder) but I've not done enough constant shooting to require a battery change mid-shoot yet.

The big advantage of having the AA holder is that if you do get stuck you can always toss in some readily available AA alkaline batteries and carry on shooting.
